dropping knowledge

A global initiative to turn apathy into activity. By hosting an open conversation on the most pressing issues of our times.

— Launches a new global dialog platform at the table of free voices, Berlin.

On September 9, 2006, 112 of the world's great minds will come together around the world's largest table in Berlin's historic Bebelplatz square. Recorded by 112 digital cameras, they will simultaneously answer 100 questions chosen out of thousands donated by the global public. The resulting 600+ hours of audiovisual content will lauch an unprecedented online resource: a knowledge portal and dialog forum created to host a global conversation covering the most pressing questions of our time.

And here is currently the top rated question:

“ What about the people who can't see a television, who can't get to the internet, how will those people be able to directly become involved in or benefit from this project.. how will their voices and needs be heard and met.. Wouldn't the money for the 112 screens, the venue et al be better spent on existing charitable trusts with proven records of actually helping real people in dire need, like those who won't even be aware of the project due to no TV, no internet, no information. Is this simply another way of the richer part of the world to feel better about itself and it's huge intellect and capacity for deep thought while the poorer continues to suffer in relative obscurity with no time, comfort or energy for asking 'deep' questions? ”
